:icongawrilaghul:: Welcome to my humble show, :icon3wyl:!
Do you enjoy being here? :)
:icon3wyl:: Hello GawrilaGhul!

By here, do you mean deviantART or.. on the show itself? :O

:icongawrilaghul:: Both, if you feel like it! :nod:

:icon3wyl:: Alright! :D I do enjoy being on deviantART, due to many reasons, really. As for the show itself, I am intrigued and will wait to see what will happen. :O

:icongawrilaghul:: Do name us, let's say, three different reasons why you enjoy being on dA, and also tell us what you would like best to happen right here, please! :nod:
:icon3wyl:: That's easy to do! :D

Firstly, I enjoy being on deviantART because of the community. I think that's the main reason, really. The community is second to none, and even though there are bad points about it, I feel that the good points counter that of the bad. It's what keeps me here and what brings me back every day.
I also enjoy being on deviantART because there are a lot of things here that I can get involved in, and a lot of things that suits me, if that makes sense. Things like groups, forums, etc. are all great features on deviantART that I take part in daily.

I like being able to make a difference. It's not just about getting involved with the community, but promoting others, providing feedback, and doing all sorts of other things that can impact another person in many different ways. I think deviantART is a great place to change people, including myself. I enjoy being on deviantART because I am constantly learning and growing as a person from being on here.
I'm not sure what you mean by what I would like best to happen. Part of that is because the best thing has already happened to me. I found my love on this website, and it was a life changer. So the best thing has already happened. :heart:

:icongawrilaghul:: Well, this answer kinda doesn't surprise me… For you are not one, but two CVs, and also, holder of the prestigious DEVIOUSNESS AWARD! :winner:

So, of course I know what a PHOTOGRAPHY CV is… But what is it, a FORUM CV does?

Also, what's this award actually about, and how did you get it? :)
:icon3wyl:: I'm just one CV, but I look after two things, that being the Photography Gallery and the Chats & Forums (mostly the forums).
A Forum CV basically moderates the forum. We lock threads, move threads, and that's about it. It sounds easy, but threads can often be a grey area, so it can be difficult at times... and then you have spammers and trolls, and all sorts of things to deal with.
As for the Deviousness Award, it gets given to a deviant on the first of every month. I guess you could say it's an award of recognition for someone who has gone above and beyond the norm. It's kind of like getting seniority, but with an award instead. Those who have received Deviousness all get it for different reasons.

As for me, I'm not sure how I got it. There were rumours at the time that were flying around, but I have to say that getting Deviousness was a true surprise.

:icongawrilaghul:: So as I understand it, basically anyone can apply for seniority, but the deviousness award is strictly GIVEN?

About seniority, I also noticed there's a forum only for seniors… So what do seniors actually talk about? Doctors and pain? :)
:icon3wyl:: I wouldn't exactly put it in those terms.. Seniority isn't something you 'apply' for. Seniority and Deviousness are both given, but Seniority is more of a mark of recognition while Deviousness is more of an award.
As for what seniors talk about, that is a secret! I will say that there are a lot of old people and their antics, though!

:icongawrilaghul:: Well alright, I'm actually not sure if I really wanna know, at all… :paranoid:
On to more important things! :salute:
In your AWARD description, which actually goes back to 2010, it quotes: "3wyl's impactarticipating in projects and events, promoting beautiful artwork and gene within our community in only 1 year is nothing short of astounding. Her constistently positive approach and eclectic gallery are testament to her love of art and desire to constantly improve. But not only that, 3wyl is well known for prally providing an all round super deviant attitude to which we should all aspire. It's with no hesitation that we are delighted to bestow the Deviousness Award for November 2010 to 3wyl, congratulations!"
What kind of "projects and events" are meant here?
Also, how do you think the dA and/or its community developed since then? :)

:icon3wyl:: It's a mystery for certain! :dummy:
In terms of Projects and Events, I imagine they were the ones I was involved in in 2010 and possibly 2009. :nod:

I've seen a few changes with the community, I guess.. but because the community is so huge on deviantART, I'm not sure about the way it's developed.
A lot of people have left and a lot have joined. The community goes through ups and downs, but I think it's still somewhat thesame, at the core of things. :nod:

:icongawrilaghul:: WHAT DID YOU DO in 2009 and 2010? :)
I guess we're also talking some LIVE EVENTS here…?

:icon3wyl:: Live events?
I'm not too sure what you mean by that there. As for what I did in 2009 and 2010, that was 4-5 years ago so I can't really remember too well. I featured artists, and contributed to the community. I made groups, joined groups as admins and helped out that way.

:icongawrilaghul:: Oh, you know! Something like major/official devmeets, or like them comicon events dA always attends…
So you NEVER participated in something like that?

:icon3wyl:: I went to a few devMeets in 2009 and 2010, yes. That didn't really affect my activities on deviantART in any way, as such. A lot of people in the community can support the community by joining groups, featuring artists, etc. That doesn't mean that everyone deserves Seniority or a Deviousness Award. It's better to do these things for their own sakes and for the good of them, not do them because you want Seniority or a Deviousness Award at the end of it all.

:icongawrilaghul:: You'll still have to admit this question was just due, though…

And THE PEOPLE would surely deserve to know! :hooray:
Anyway, next on is YOUR ART! Let's start with your PHOTOGRAPHY!

Hierarchy by 3wyl   Hope by 3wyl   Fragile by 3wyl   Sleeping by 3wyl
Tell us something about your PHOTOGRAPHY, please! :)

:icon3wyl:: I think, overall, people should be less concerned about seniority and Deviousness Award and Daily Deviations and everything. Just take part in things for their own sake and have fun.
With my photography, I like to turn something ordinary into something else, I guess. Sometimes that isn't always the case, but I like approaching things from a different perspective and providing another way of looking at things in life. I think Photography is great for that. :nod:

:icongawrilaghul:: I see you're not just the "pretty pictures" type… So, would you like to elaborate on how your photographic eye makes things less ordinary? :)
:icon3wyl:: Well, I do have a few photographs of unoriginal concepts and 'cliche' subject matters, but hopefully not too many!
Firstly, I shoot anything and everything that looks interesting, from different angles and perspectives. The magic comes in when the pieces are shot and I am reviewing and post-processing them. That is where things become less ordinary. There isn't really something specific to look out for, just experimenting and trying out new things, be it during execution or after you've taken the photograph.
One sure thing is I like to rotate photographs to see whether things would be more intriguing that way.

:icongawrilaghul:: I might be beginning to like you! :nod: So, what you're saying is that you're basically using photographs as the "raw materials", on which to work your own MAGIC later? :)
:icon3wyl:: In a way. Sometimes, I don't need to do a lot to a photograph, but most photographs do need to be post-processed, regardless.
It depends on the piece, really. Sometimes it already contains magic, so it leads me rather than the other way around.

:icongawrilaghul:: I see… You're using DIPLOMACY here! :idea:
So, why not share with us one of your own examples of a photograph that led YOU, and one representative for the opposite direction now, please? :)

:icon3wyl:: If you think so. :lol:
Flourish by 3wyl is a good example of a photograph that led me as opposed to the other way around. It was a lucky capture, and I didn't really see the magic behind it all until I post-processed the piece. It opened my eyes, though, to produce this! :D

As for the other way around... Not sure this counts, but perhaps Mysteries of the Universe by 3wyl. I haven't done any post-processing there. I guess you could say that the situation led me in that one.

I'm not sure I've led any myself. Perhaps Entrapment by 3wyl in which I purposefully set up the shot.

:icongawrilaghul:: Another thing you quite frequently do, is LITERATURE...

LifeI am a killer at heart.
They say a slow death is the best death. I must admit it is fitting if you are into torture on the side, but I have to say I do not care if the killing is fast or slow. It just happens to be slow every single time.
You should know that I do not kill in a way that is obvious. If you want to find me, you can not, though I gift something to every person (I kill... for your pleasure).
I want them to feel what I feel.
That is what humanity is. It is about relating to others and getting them to sympathise, or empathise, because, deep down, we crave it. We crave the knowledge that we are not alone in this god. forsaken. world.
It may come as a surprise, but it works.
It works so well that I kill them.

Compared to doing photos, what's different while doing literature? :)

:icon3wyl:: Well, I put a lot of my personal self in my literature, so I associate myself more with my literature than my photographs. My literature is more of a window to who and what I am, so it's more vulnerable and raw in that sense, I guess.
That, and I only write when I feel the need to, otherwise I don't write anything. :P

:icongawrilaghul:: Did you also feel the NEED to make a special group for :iconsixwordstories:? :)
:icon3wyl:: :iconsixwordstories: came by chance, I guess you could say. I had stumbled across the concept of six word stories not too long before setting up the group, and because there was no group dedicated to it, I set it up to fill in the niche. I think it's one of the largest flash fiction literature groups, especially for those containing under 50 words. :nod:

:icongawrilaghul:: Are six word stories LITERATURE, too? If so, why? :)
:icon3wyl:: If one doesn't think six word stories are literature, I'd like to know the reasons why. I personally think they are still literature due to the form, in which one is creatively coming up with a story in just six words. It is a type of minute flash fiction, and can be very challenging.

:icongawrilaghul:: What do you think is it that decisively makes a story a story, rather than just a bunch of words? :)
:icon3wyl:: We all have different definitions on what makes a story a story, so I won't presume to speak for anyone else. For me personally, a story is a story if it invites the reader to participate. Not only does the story tell us something, it progresses, and provides a platform for the reader to imagine something more about the piece. It's very much a relationship between writer and reader.

:icongawrilaghul:: Well of course you can only speak for yourself… This show is not about ANYONE ELSE, it is about YOU! :thumbsup: But speaking of that… Being the veteran you are, does it actually happen sometimes you are supposed to do just so? :)

:icon3wyl:: I guess there's that. :lol: I'm by no means a veteran, though. :nod:
How do you mean? :confused:
If you could rephrase that, that'd be great. :nod:

:icongawrilaghul:: Does it happen sometimes that being all respected, all decorated and stuff, you are asked to speak for others? :)
:icon3wyl:: I have to say that respect isn't guaranteed there. I'm not sure I'm 'all respected' at all. As for 'all decorated', that doesn't really factor into things and shouldn't. I guess I still don't quite understand what you're asking. I can't recall a moment where I was asked to speak for others. I speak for others if I believe in it, just as anyone else would if they were in the same position. I feel as if you're making it seem that my role on deviantART is what defines who and what I am, but that is not the case. What I do on deviantART is only one part of me, it is not the whole sum of me and I sincerely hope other people don't treat it as such. I am more than just a volunteer on dA. I am a person with my own thoughts and feelings, and so I will state something when I feel it needs to be stated, regardless of anything else.

:icongawrilaghul:: Well, I already figured that's probably not EVERYTHING you are… It's actually just a little something that has been important for why you have been invited here! :thumbsup:
So, why are you like, so HUMBLE about it all? Don't you think that's an interesting theme? :)

:icon3wyl:: An interesting theme? Not particularly. :lol: I don't do things with the purpose of being humble, but if I had to choose I'd rather appear humble than arrogant.

:icongawrilaghul:: Right, so on with just another question about RESPECT AND DECORATION! =D:thumbsup:
Why is it, that you are able to actually administer 13 GROUPS, instead of the normal maximum of ten? :)

:icon3wyl:: Ah, there is nothing special about that. The official groups I am in like :iconcommunityrelations: don't count towards the group limit. That goes for anyone who is in an official group. :)

:icongawrilaghul:: Which are the best OFFICIAL GROUPS? :)

:icon3wyl:: The official group listing is here: FAQ #410: What is the official DeviantArt group?
As for the best ones, that comes down to personal opinion. :lol:

:icongawrilaghul:: Where do you think/hope dA will go in the future? :)
:icon3wyl:: Hmm.. I imagine that dA will continue expanding, both inside and outside, online and offline. It will be interesting to see where it will go in future. :nod:

:icongawrilaghul:: Do you think that dA actually does it on purpose, remaining somewhat BELOW THE RADAR in the network world somehow? :)
:icon3wyl:: I'm not sure why dA would do it on purpose, there? For what reason or purpose would that solve?
I didn't think it did remain below the radar in the network world.

:icongawrilaghul:: I see… Tell us something about :icondamntaboo:, please? :nod:

:icon3wyl:: Could I skip that question, please? :)

:icongawrilaghul:: Right...
Do you have any other last words left for our humble audience instead? :)
:icon3wyl:: Just a massive thank you to you for hosting the show and for everyone who has managed to get through it. :lol:

:icongawrilaghul:: Ladies and gentlemen, :clap::icon3wyl:!
Being all HUMBLE, but still responding true veteran-style and even linking some FAQ! =D
