So what are you up to, next?

besides from posting my work to internet trying to scrape money for gallery rents to have an exhibition .. i'm also looking for oppurtunities to get works exhibited for free , those oppurtunities are mostly avaidable in summer .
I'm also painting more all the time .

old proverb goes that every picture is a selfportrait , some of them more , others less

Most of my pictures are abstractions of ideas , presented in visual language and often i know what the idea is only afterwards , when the work is ready , since i'm not a person but idea lacking the knowledge of it's meaning there's also connection to every work ... from the quartet you presented , the abstract work O.T.E . is closest to self portrait , it's painted on my pants .

: Well, I'm glad you didn't say, "it's painted WITH my pants!"

Anyway... Why did you do that?

: i simply run out of canvas and liked to try some new material

then cut my old working jeans to pieces and painted on them

: It's a piece that's been closest to myself

About "getting exhibited for free" now!

I'll call out no names here of course, but I do remember one very experienced deviant and painter (-->

) giving away all of her stuff for free, because actually "the market for paintings is overstocked."
So, what's your opinion about the market for EXHIBITION ROOM?

: Exhibition room is always and everywhere too expensive

there's been some talk if art should have a meaning , that's not necessary ,it's enough that it looks like having a meaning .
not right now of course .. no reason

when audience is D.A. that's easy , post anything , and soon someone comes and sees things in it ..

i mean that they're artists themselves and have good imagination ,
non artist audience outside D.a. may be problem - D.a. audience is best possible ,
they make half of the artists work for you

: non artist audience outside D.a. don't much understand or appreciate abstract work that's majority of my pictures .
common people have liked my pictures of women , and it's been women who have liked of them , they say my pictures aren't pornographics , but gentle and respectful ... i dunno , i have sold a few of them

: Here's just a quick excursus on WOMEN: So, do I have to imagine this like them approaching you, saying things like "hey,

, this is absolutely not pornographic! I like it!" while, at the same time still, managing to somehow also remain RESPECTFUL...?

If so, what is this supposed to tell us, about what, at all...?

: Real story behind quote goes like this - I was selling some stuff in my hometowns market square and had little portfolio of my work with me , this woman looked them and said "your pictures of women are nice , they aren't smutty" and bought something ... and i got similar feedback from other people too .
That's not my opinion of course , it was theirs

For me those pictures are abstractions , much like anything else

This doesn't tell much anything about nothing , but since you asked about audience outside D.a. here is their reactions

If so, why?

: if i had all money in the world i wouldn't care too much for selling ,
and now i sell so little that i don't care about that too much either .
Truthful opinion about pictures of women comes again from D.a. audience .
Someone said they are very emotional , and that's true , they are also very abstract and not too much anatomically detailed , so they can be smutty , but not pornographic .

: Well I do agree with "emotional", yet still I find that "smutty, but not pornographic" comment rather odd…

Anyway, let's talk a bit about your own perception of your women!

Especially about Laundry Girl, since she appears more than once in your gallery!
Who/what is she?

: sometimes i talk odd , but do you think most beautiful woman in town does qualify as "smutty , but not pornographic " ... it's completely abstract , but looks dirty in a way .
there's not any deep thought in laundry girls , i used to work in bathroom at the time when i made those , i quess that's why i titled them laundry girl , i worked in same space where laundry was done .

did make on that, what HAS been your approach towards it?
Is it an abstraction of how your ideal woman would look like?

not an abstraction how ideal woman should look like ,
there's also little piece of text in description , that imitates the style of limericks ,
limericks are usually naughty little pieces of poetry ... connecting style of the text and stain like image it all makes reference to dirty sex act .

: i'm not capable of limericks or too smart either , but still i wrote it ,
i agree that language is highly symbolics and in that way it's very different of usual limericks , yet the text does have kind of limerick mood anyway .
it may be that the work does not open to everyone same way , but that's not necessary , actually that's one of the fun parts of abstract and symbolic stuff , everybody can see it their own way .

: anything that's good and original in some way

: Ok, so what is GOOD?

: what's good is subjective , but what's original ain't subjective .
that's why definition of art needs to meet both criterias .

: So, art has to speak to YOU personally, while still being somewhat STRIKING…?

: yeah , art has to speak to YOU personally , but it can be also subtle , as opposed to striking , often it's just the subtle stuff that makes the originality in art , small variarions on what's been done before .

: Well but if something is SUBTLE enough in just the right way to be recognized by YOU PERSONALLY, it is also still STRIKING!
