:icongawrilaghul:: Welcome to my humble show, :icononyxfaustus:!
Do you enjoy being here? :)

:icononyxfaustus:: yes, very much so! :)

:icongawrilaghul:: Why?

Has it something to do with, "deviant since 5 months...?" :)

:icononyxfaustus::
I've actually been on Deviantart for several years, but the old account was mostly crappy fanarts and whatnot. When I finally found my art style, this dark surrealism you see now, I wanted to start anew, so i deleted that account and started this one.

:icongawrilaghul:: Why didn't you choose to DEVELOP instead?

:icononyxfaustus:: Well, I was developing. But this new style was sooo different than what those watchers were used to.
I just really wanted a brand new start.

:icongawrilaghul:: Alright...

So, before we take a look at what you do TODAY...

Why not share one or two of those really OLD things, with our noble audience?

Also: Why not say just why exactly they are OLD? :)

:icononyxfaustus:: oh I haven't got any links to share, they were deleted. They were pencil sketches and some paintings mostly of Assassins Creed characters, Silent Hill Characters and also Jonathan Davis from Korn (love that guy)........ I wasn't proud of them at all. I pretty much consider anything that I completed before i discovered this dark surrealism to be old... even though in reality i just began it this year.... I love my current work much more though. They're so much better skill-wise and they're much more deep and personal.

:icongawrilaghul:: Oh well... I see... :shrug:
Anyway: The way I see it, there are currently TWO dominant things, in your work...

1.) dark stuff, and 2.) (dark) cats…

I'll Burn Everything by OnyxFaustus   We All Fall Down by OnyxFaustus   :thumb541501540:   Spirit of Inquiry by OnyxFaustus

Your comment? :)

:icononyxfaustus:: Ah yes its pretty odd. I'm all about dark/creepy stuff, that's the type of art I love doing the most, but then I also love cute cuddly cats XD  The cat paintings started when one cat in the neighorhood I was very close to died... I painted her to honor her memory.

This is hers: :thumb541501540:

After that I'd decided to start cat commissions to gain some money... but that never really got off the ground. I'd still do them if anyone was interested but my main focus is the dark stuff. :)

:icongawrilaghul:: That's sad...
Anything of that, actually! :sadangel:
But, before we go on with the other stuff: Tell us more about your relationship with that CAT, please! :sadangel:

:icononyxfaustus::
Well, one of my neighbors had a huge pit bull living with them and they didn't pay much attention to their cats. They had two, a Siamese and a black cat, they were brother and sister. They both used to sneak out the window and come to my house and I always gave them food/water and I'd sit outside and just hangout with them. I do so for all the cats in the neighborhood. I just feel this attachment, this connection to cats I can't really explain.
This cat in particular was one of the nicest ones, so I was very upset when I'd heard she passed. What angered me even more was her owner did not seem to care at all... oh well, the past is the past.

:icongawrilaghul:: Is there anything specific, that you would like to do with/to her (former) "owner?" :meow:

:icononyxfaustus:: When it first happened I wanted to punch her in the face and steal her other cat, but then they moved, unfortunately. The cats always seemed like they were starving, and she never put an effort to find them when they were missing or anything. In fact, I'd known about the cat's death days before she did. I don't understand why anyone would get a pet if they wouldn't care for them...

:icongawrilaghul:: Totally agreed...

What is MINDCRIME? Mindcrime by OnyxFaustus :)

:icononyxfaustus::
Mindcrime is a painting of... an enemy. Of me and my family's. I'm not going to reveal the name or identity but the painting is my way of exposing him, I guess. Creating his character for the story I'm expressing through my paintings. This particular guy's got a... fascination... with secret societies, hence the illuminati symbol.
He's also big on brainwashing. The word "mindcrime" is referring to... well usually brainwashing involves planting an event in someone's mind, instructions to commit a 'crime', and when the person is triggered they follow those instructions. Big secret society tactic.

:icongawrilaghul:: What exactly are you talking about, when talking about secret societies?

:icononyxfaustus:: Secret societies such as the Illuminati, New World Order, Skull and Bones, that kind of thing.
The "take over the world" kind of groups.

:icongawrilaghul:: What do they have to do with YOUR ENEMY, except YOUR ENEMY being interested in them?
:icononyxfaustus:: ....I'm not going to go any further into that subject.
Personal reasons... my apologies.

:icongawrilaghul:: On your new account, why did you call yourself ONYXFAUSTUS?

:icononyxfaustus:: Onyx is a nickname my mom gave to me. She chose it because I love crystals and I wear black all the time so she picked a black crystal, Onyx. I wanted a last name to go with that, and since I'm big into demonology I picked Faustus in honor of Dr. Faust, who sold his soul to Mephistopheles. Faust is one of my favorite stories of all time.

:icongawrilaghul:: Are you faustian yourself?

:icononyxfaustus:: Would I sell my soul to the devil, or any demon for that matter? No. Not even for infinite knowledge and power. I value my freedom and independence more than anything else.

:icongawrilaghul:: On a scale from 1 to 10, how free are you?

:icononyxfaustus:: I'm probably about an 8 in freedom. Definitely free compared to people in other countries or worse financial situations than mine and I have a pretty lenient family/parents. There are some issues with the government restricting freedoms, especially on internet/communication privacy, but I won't get into that.

:icongawrilaghul:: How do you define Wisdom by OnyxFaustus WISDOM?

:icononyxfaustus::
Wisdom is all about knowledge and experience. The painting is my interpretation of Eliphas Levi's Baphomet. Baphomet symbolizes the union of opposites, yin and yang, to create equilibrium. There is good and evil in everything, this law is important for everyone to understand, nothing is simple, nothing is black and white.

:icongawrilaghul:: What do you think about the relationship between Levi and
Crowley?
:icononyxfaustus:: I think it's very possible that
Crowley was the reincarnation of Levi. That would be pretty interesting if it's true. I'd have to do a lot more research on both of them to really make a serious guess, but it would make sense.

:icongawrilaghul:: Does REINCARNATION "exist?"

:icononyxfaustus:: I strongly believe so. There have been studies / people who remember things from previous lifetimes that they've never heard of before or had no way of knowing otherwise. Going to places and having flashbacks, etc. I don't see why else we'd go through our life learning all these things only to have it mean nothing, erased, and for us to simply cease to exist. So yes, I believe reincarnation exists.

:icongawrilaghul:: What do you think you will be reincarnated as, and what do you think you reincarnated from?

:icononyxfaustus:: I assume I'll reincarnate as another person. I have suspicions that I reincarnated from one of the Knights Templars, based on dreams and a regression I had a few months ago. I've always felt a connection to them too.

:icongawrilaghul:: Tell us more about that! :nod:

Tell us EVERYTHING! :nod::thumbsup:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=b11-37… ...?

:icononyxfaustus:: I've had dreams/flashes of walking through dark corridors with men in the Templar's uniform, with the red cross. We're holding torches. I can hear us conversing, but it's muffled and unclear.
The first time I'd ever seen pictures of
Jerusalem, I was overwhelmed with a sense of deja-vu. It felt so familiar to me, like I'd been there many times before, even though I've never been anywhere near there (in this life at least). Throughout my life I keep being drawn back to the Templars, to researching them. I've a deep respect for them and for Jacques.
People in the new-age and spiritualism fields always say that certain subjects/time periods interest/draw you in because they relate to your past life, and I believe them.

:icongawrilaghul:: If someone would just ask you to describe the templars, how would you describe them? :)
:icononyxfaustus:: I would describe them as very intelligent, brave and determined warriors who fought for what they believed in, what was right. They were a big inspiration for many people, and were a huge influence on our world history, who knows how different things would be today if they hadn't existed.

:icongawrilaghul:: Talking about "believing..."
Do you, in any way, differ between "religion" and "spirituality?"

If so, in what way?
:icononyxfaustus:: To me, there is a big difference. Religion is all about rules, following the words/teachings of some 'god' or 'deity'. People have always used religion as a means of holding power over others. A lot of religious people tend to be the most hypocritical... Spirituality is more personal, about connecting with your higher consciousness, becoming the best you can be, helping others etc. Spirituality is a lot more open and accepting than any religion is.
Personally, I'm not a fan of religion at all. I've jumped from Atheism to Islam to Buddhism to Leviathan satanism in search of whatever fit my beliefs best and none of them ever did. I'm big into spirituality though, I resonate with that a lot more than any religion.

:icongawrilaghul:: So what are your beliefs, ALTHOUGH your beliefs are irreligious?
Also, resp. if you don’t want to answer that: How would you describe the mental process, that is BELIEVING? (in something?)

:icononyxfaustus:: I believe in reincarnation, karma, higher-self. I believe in demons, angels, ascended masters. I don't believe in the christian 'god' that watches us, although i believe in higher consciousness. I believe that all life is sacred. But I believe if someone does wrong to you, its okay to take revenge and stand up for yourself. Do no harm but take no shit.

:icongawrilaghul:: Tell our humble audience everything there is to know, about just how YOU define a "higher" anything, please! :nod::thumbsup:

If possible: while still referring to the TEMPLARS! :nod::thumbsup:
:icononyxfaustus:: When I talk of a higher-anything, I'm speaking of a higher, stronger, more evolved/intelligent power or spirit. For the Templars, their higher power would be the christian God. In spirituality, it's any ascended master or angel. Higher=more powerful/evolved/intelligent being. It's whoever anyone prays to or calls upon for guidance, basically.

:icongawrilaghul:: So what's your higher self?
:icononyxfaustus:: Everyone has one. Your higher self is your soul, your life force. It is the part of you that lives on after death, that retains the memories of all your lives.
It's your personality in the purest form.

:icongawrilaghul:: Do you have any more last words left, for our noble audience? :)
:icononyxfaustus: A couple things. My motto to live by, (in the words of Jonathan Davis): Do whatever the fuck you want in life, as long as you're not hurting anybody. :)

Also, don't overthink. Just follow your dreams, do what you want, and everything will work out.

:icongawrilaghul:: Ladies and gentlemen, :clap::icononyxfaustus:!

Also: :clap: ":icononyxfaustus:"!
